As a former Director of Development at small non-profits, Michele Glik understands the challenges of being part of a modest staff with a tight budget. It is critical to understand how to effectively use the tools you have readily available. As a development consultant with knowledge of CRMs such as Easyshul, ShulCloud, Temple Tools, and other fundraising CRMs, Michele can help you increase your synagogue’s or non-profit’s fundraising potential.

When I was a little girl, I relished time spent with my grandparents, Upon reflection, I realized they taught me a valuable lesson about giving and receiving. Every time I saw my grandparents, Max and Flo, they would spoil me and give me $5.00—it was a thrill to see them and to receive some money. However, it was the smile on their faces that showed me it made them far happier to give us money than for us to receive it. My grandma, Lucille, showed me through action—Tikkun Olam (repairing the world)—that volunteering can bring as much happiness as money; those relationships help turn us into the best donors too (though we often receive far more than we give). Although my grandparents taught me a lot, my earliest lesson in fundraising was from a wise teacher who said,

“Giving makes people smile.”
